Archibald Arena on the South Saskatchewan

Archibald Arena stands in GD Archibald Memorial Park in Saskatoon's North Park neighbourhood. The land was named George D. Archibald Memorial Park in 1950, and the Archibald Park Complex opened on December 8, 1972. The arena sits along Spadina Crescent, across from the South Saskatchewan River and the Meewasin Valley trail system.

It is a municipally owned single-sheet arena, with a 185-by-85-foot ice surface, a digital scoreboard and sound system and a concession. Minor hockey teams are its main users, alongside learn-to-skate programs, public skating and events through the winter. It is one of five City of Saskatoon indoor arenas, with ACT, Gordie Howe Kinsmen, Cosmo and Lions.

Its future is being reinvested in. A city report three years ago found the facility beyond its current useful life and estimated upgrades at CA$7 million to CA$11 million, and new funding now supports enhanced building envelope and mechanical work to improve its lifespan and accessibility. City hall is also studying whether to add more ice sheets at Archibald and ACT.
