A community arena opened in 1948 as Beeton's memorial centre
The Beeton Community Memorial Centre was erected in 1948 and 1949 and officially opened on December 29, 1948, with the opening performed by Hon. W.A. Goodfellow. A local farmer and carpenter, Ben Heuchan, offered to raise the rink and enlisted local labour and farmers, and construction was supervised by Heuchan and later by Andy McCague.
Today the Town of New Tecumseth runs it as the Beeton Memorial Arena: a community hall and an indoor ice rink for the fall and winter season, with a dry pad floor in spring and summer. The arena floor holds approximately 1,000 people.
In June 2026 council approved an arena to replace the almost 80-year-old building. The current arena is nearing the end of life, with ongoing functional limitations, and recent repairs have extended its life in the short term. Council changed the replacement to include a community-size ice surface.
