Alliston's arena since 2007

The New Tecumseth Recreation Centre officially opened in the fall of 2007 with two ice pads, including a main arena seating 750 spectators, along with an indoor field house and meeting rooms. The 54-Plus Seniors Centre was later added on the west side of the building.

The Alliston Hornets, a Junior C club founded in 1971, play their Provincial Junior Hockey League home games here. From 2013 the building was also home to the Alliston Coyotes of the Greater Metro Hockey League, who lost their first home game 4-2 to the Toronto Attack on September 12, 2013 and played as the New Tecumseth Civics from 2016 to 2022.

The roof was meant to last 15 years but started leaking after only a few. The Town started repairs in 2018, and by September 2021 crews were replacing the roof over the original building. In February 2023 a compressor failure closed both ice pads from February 7, though the shutdown lasted only a couple of days.
