Opened in 2011 as Schomberg's arena and curling club
The Trisan Centre opened on April 29, 2011. Maple Reinders Construction built it to York's LEED Silver standard, and local firm Trisan Construction bought the arena's naming rights for 50 years.
Under one roof it has an NHL-size ice pad with seating for about 600, a four-sheet curling facility, a two-lane walking and running track, and a two-bay York Region paramedic station. The arena is the home rink of the Schomberg Cougars, an Ontario Hockey Association junior team, and of the Schomberg Minor Hockey Association of the Simcoe Region Minor Hockey League. The King Curling Club meets here too; the clubs it grew out of in Schomberg and Nobleton used to curl on the hockey ice of their community arenas.
The Cougars opened their first season in the building on September 15, 2011 with a 6–2 win over the Fergus Devils. That fall the AHL's Toronto Marlies played two preseason exhibition games against the Syracuse Crunch, hosting the first of them here on October 2, 2011.
