Brampton's twin-pad arena in Earnscliffe Park
Earnscliffe Recreation Centre is a City of Brampton twin-pad arena: two ice rinks under one roof, with a lap pool in the same building. It sits in Earnscliffe Park, whose grounds also hold tennis courts, a soccer field and ball diamonds. The city lists it among its year-round arenas, alongside Cassie Campbell Community Centre and Century Gardens Recreation Centre.
Girls' hockey has a home here: the Brampton Canadettes Girls Hockey Association lists Earnscliffe's Rink 1 among its venues. Around the Canadettes' ice, the city runs its own drop-in programme: public skates, shinny (non-contact drop-in hockey played without formal rules or assigned positions) and skate-practice sessions for beginners of any age and skaters with accessibility needs. Learn to Skate lessons run for all skill levels and age groups.
The building has been through one full renovation, a city project that paired Earnscliffe with the same work at Century Gardens Recreation Centre. In December 2016 the city ordered a REALice water-treatment system for the twin pads, treating all the water the resurfacer uses on both sheets. In June 2025 the centre hosted one of the city's free skating equipment try-on events for registered skating participants. Outside, work on the Earnscliffe Park Cricket Dome beside the centre has resumed.
