Twin-pad arena inside a town community centre

Glen Abbey Community Centre is the Town of Oakville's twin-pad arena on Third Line: two ice sheets, the Blue Rink and the Green Rink, each 190 by 85 feet, so a session on either pad is played on the same-size ice. The arena shares one municipal building with the Glen Abbey branch of the Oakville Public Library, a 25-metre leisure pool and the Oakville Gymnastics Club, all under the Glen Abbey Community Centre name.

The Oakville Rangers Hockey Club lists both sheets, Glen Abbey (Blue) and Glen Abbey (Green), among its venues. Skate Oakville, the town's figure skating club, was housed at Glen Abbey in an earlier period of its history; the club has since moved and now calls Sixteen Mile Sports Complex home.

The building's exterior has been renovated. The bottom two rows of architectural face block were replaced, damaged exterior cladding was swapped out and the exterior steel was re-coated, and the work had to be completed during the winter-holiday shutdown so the arena stayed open through the rest of its schedule.
