The 1951 Oakville Arena, rebuilt in 2018

Trafalgar Park Community Centre is the old Oakville Arena, rebuilt and renamed in 2018. The barn on the corner of Rebecca and Kerr was built in 1951, was once home to the Junior A Oakville Blades, and had hosted hockey at every level for more than 60 years before the redesign. The heritage arena was preserved and enlarged, and it now connects to an adjacent community centre, a 65,000-square-foot project.

The ice pad was expanded to NHL size, 200 by 85 feet, and still sits under the arena's distinctive wooden roof trusses. Anyone who played in the old barn will remember how ridiculously cold it got in the middle of a long winter; the rebuild added seating and an enclosed warm viewing area for the people watching. Outside, the double tennis court is converted into a refrigerated outdoor rink each winter.

Skate Oakville runs its CanSkate learn-to-skate program here, one of only three locations in town where it is offered, and visiting associations such as the Cambridge Roadrunners list the arena among their game venues. The Oakville Hornets held a tournament here on February 20, 2026, which cancelled that morning's adult recreational skate.
