Skating beneath Guy's Tower

At Christmas Warwick Castle's East Front is transformed into an open-air ice rink, where skaters glide beneath Guy's Tower by day or under the evening sky to a soundtrack of Christmas classics. A handrail runs around the outside of the rink for anyone who needs extra support, skate aids are available for children, and ice marshals are on the ice to monitor safe skating.

Warwick Castle is a medieval castle developed from a wooden fort originally built by William the Conqueror in 1068. The original wooden motte-and-bailey castle overlooking the River Avon was rebuilt in stone during the 12th century. It stands in the town of Warwick on a sandstone bluff at a bend of the river, and was bought by the Tussauds Group in 1978.

Spectators can watch from a viewing platform and are free of charge, as long as they are accompanying someone who is skating.
