Currently out of season The Forks says the Nestaweya River Trail has no set opening date and depends entirely on weather and ice conditions (historically it opens in January and closes in March); its page says the trail is closed until next year and the daily Open/Closed conditions list is posted at theforks.com/skate. The Winnipeg Trails Association rents a limited supply of ice skates at its Zoopigon pop-up next to the Riley Family Duck Pond, by donation on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability.
