Home of the Chesapeake Curling Club

Talbot County Community Center is the county-run ice rink for Easton, Maryland, operated by Talbot County Parks and Recreation. A private donor’s gift of about $2.5 million began the renovation the county approved in 2005.

The community center holds two sheets under one roof: the Ice Rink and a separate Curling Rink, where the Chesapeake Curling Club is based. The Talbot Figure Skating Club stages its Winter Exhibition on the ice, with skaters from the rink’s Showtime class performing a group routine, and the local youth hockey association sends its beginners to the rink’s skating lessons first. A gymnasium expansion opened beside the rink on January 31, 2024.

In the fall of 2022 the rink’s 44-year-old cooling system failed, and the ice stayed closed until an emergency repair was made; the rink reopened in February 2023 for what was then the traditional last month of ice. On May 30, 2026, the rink hosted Light the Lamp for Liam, a hockey-centered family event in memory of a local youth hockey player.
