Chestermere's two-arena community centre

The Chestermere Recreation Centre is run by the Chestermere Regional Community Association, which describes it as a gathering place for recreation, sport and community connection for generations. The recreation centre was among the amenities Chestermere added as a summer village, along with a community hall, street lights and a golf course.

It has two sheets. The Red Arena is a full Olympic-size surface, 200 by 100 feet, with room for 650 people, and the Blue Arena is 184 by 84 feet and holds 350. Chestermere Minor Hockey Association, Chestermere Skating School, Ice Edge Skating Club and Indus Ringette are among the groups that use the building. Membership fees help maintain the ice arenas, the curling arena, the ball diamonds and the soccer fields.

In September 2026 the association replaced the arenas' aging chiller with support from the Active Communities Initiative, the City of Chestermere and Rocky View County. Beyond the ice, the centre hosts curling leagues, tournaments, weddings and community celebrations through the year.
