Home of the Bow Valley Hockey Society

Trico Centre for Family Wellness was the Family Leisure Centre until May 10, 2008, when Wayne Chiu and Trico Homes committed to a 10-year naming sponsorship. The sponsorship was renewed for a second 10-year term in 2020. The centre is community-owned and not-for-profit, and works in partnership with more than 30 south Calgary communities.

Its two NHL-size rinks host shinny hockey, stick and puck and leisure skating. The centre is home to the Bow Valley Hockey Society, established in 1987 for the Calgary communities of Auburn Bay, Cranston, Douglasdale, Mahogany, McKenzie Lake and Seton. Young players who learn the basics in Trico's learn-to-skate and hockey programs can graduate to the society's teams.

Bow Valley, a familiar tenant, donated toward a new Olympia ice resurfacer in 2023 and is now the resurfacer's sponsor for three years. Youth and shinny hockey, skating lessons, figure skating and tournament play all share the two sheets. Trico also runs a six-level children's learn-to-skate program and a figure-skating ice time, not affiliated with Skate Canada, for practising skills, jumps and spins.
