East Brunswick's municipal two-rink arena, opened March 22, 2026 with help from $3 million in state funding.
The East Brunswick Ice Arena is the Township of East Brunswick's own rink, and it officially opened on Sunday, March 22, 2026. State legislators helped secure funding toward the construction of the rinks, and Mayor Brad Cohen gave them a tour of the building in October 2025, months before it opened.
The township has an agreement with Black Bear Sports Group to facilitate hockey programs here, and two of that group's main teams, the Mercer Chiefs and the PTL, use the arena as a home. The New Jersey Devils run a Learn to Play program for young players in the building, and the township's Learn to Skate program follows the Learn to Skate USA curriculum.
Events have included a Breast Cancer Awareness Skate, a Skate & (Not So) Scary Event and a Teen Night, and the township describes the building as a brand-new arena.
