Hamilton's Ice Land, home of the Mercer Chiefs
Ice Land Skating Center in Hamilton Township opened in 1990. The 68,860-square-foot facility has two NHL-size rinks, party space for corporate, community and group events, and on-site businesses including the Js Cafe, and it is owned by Black Bear Sports Group, whose management arm runs its programming, marketing and sponsorships.
It is home ice for the Mercer Chiefs. In 2022 the USPHL admitted the Chiefs as an expansion franchise in its top division, the National Collegiate Development Conference, where they play as a Tier II junior team. In 2024 the organization moved its under-18 team from the Atlantic Youth Hockey League to the NCDC and founded a second junior team, a Tier III club in the USPHL's lower division, which also plays here.
Adults play in Foundry Adult Hockey, which calls itself the largest adult hockey organization in the country, and younger players start in the Jr. Rangers House League, a recreational program with professional coaching.
