Hunterdon County's only indoor ice rink

Flemington Ice Arena is the only indoor ice rink in Hunterdon County, and it operated as Aspen Ice before taking its present name. Early in 2015 word got out that Aspen Ice was scheduled to close on March 29 of that year, with a part-owner citing undisclosed business reasons. A local soccer parent answered with a Facebook page called "Save Flemington Ice Rink" to stop the rumoured closing from becoming real, and the building is still open today under the Flemington Ice Arena name.

Hockey gives the building its two named home teams. The Hunterdon Bears, the NJYHL youth program, are dedicated to the development and education of boys and girls who want to advance their skills. The New Jersey Bears of the EHL arrived before the 2022-23 season, when the franchise was sold, moved to Flemington and took its present name.

Figure skating and freestyle share the ice with the hockey programs. Skaters enrolled in the rink's Rising Stars program perform in its annual holiday show, the Snowball Classic, each December. The arena runs year-round, and tournaments and camps fill the calendar alongside the league and lesson programs.
