An international-size rink, renovated in 2026
Oak Lawn Ice Arena belongs to the Oak Lawn Park District, which was organized in the mid-1940s, and stands next to the district's Administrative Center. Its international-size ice surface, 100 by 200 feet, is used year-round by hockey players and figure skaters, with newly refurbished seating for up to 1,100 spectators and a large viewing platform.
In January 2026 the arena completed a major renovation that brought an all-new ice surface and replacement rink refrigeration system, new dasher boards, protective netting and updated locker rooms. The Chicago Wolves and the Chicago Blackhawks are listed as rink partners.
Since reopening, the rink has added rides on its own ice resurfacer, with a driver taking guests around the ice, alongside a full slate of family open skates and glow skate events.

The Park District's Special Recreation team advises and assists residents who want to take part in its programmes, at no cost, and asks for an Inclusion Request Form two weeks before the programme starts. A 2025-26 renovation gave the arena two locker rooms and one group locker room with an accessible shower, toilet and sink. Nothing is published about step-free entry, accessible seating or on-ice support.
