Monument's two-building ice complex, founded in 2006 and home of Lewis-Palmer high school hockey.
Monument Ice Rinks was founded in 2006 to fill the void left when the ice rink at Chapel Hills closed. Its founders wanted to meet local interest in ice sports and give the community a new source of family entertainment, just north of Colorado Springs.
The rinks are in two separate buildings: the original NHL-size rink and a newer second sheet, also 200 by 85 feet. Between them they host hockey, figure skating, curling, broomball and public skating, along with strength and agility training and school and church fundraisers.
They are home to D38 Lewis-Palmer High School hockey, Colorado Rampage AAA Hockey and the International Ice Academy of Colorado. The rink's own history also celebrates figure skater Jason Brown, who moved from Chicago with coach Kori Ade to make Colorado Sports Center their home rink and went on to win team bronze at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
