Two full-sized sheets and a hockey association running for over 50 years
St. Clair Shores Civic Arena houses two full-sized ice rinks, used for free skate, figure skating and hockey and rented out for private ice time. The St. Clair Shores Hockey Association has been running for more than 50 years and proudly dubs itself Hockeytown, USA.
The other resident is the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club, with adult, youth, hockey and adaptive skating programs for every skill level; membership through the club is required to join them. Adult hockey runs in Fall/Winter and Spring leagues offered through the arena.
The figure skating club's annual ice show has run for more than 50 years and in 2025 was staged at Civic Arena over the final weekend of April. Club president Aimee Miller describes it as a reunion of everyone who has ever skated through St. Clair Shores, with adults and alumni coming back for it. On the hockey side, the association's Skate Like a Girl program, revitalized by 21-year-old Dragovic by late 2024, brings girls from across metro Detroit to the Civic Arena ice once a month for an hour-and-a-half lesson.
