A new hall in 2018 on a rink site from 1961
Wohlen's ice rink goes back to 1961, when the Genossenschaft Kunsteisbahn was founded, and the Eisbahn Wohlen opened in 1976. In 2016 voters approved the new ice hall with 75.5 percent of the vote, ground was broken in 2017, and the new Eishalle opened on 29 September 2018, followed by an official opening festival on 20 and 21 October 2018.
The Sportpark Bünzmatt AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of the municipality of Wohlen, runs the Schüwo Park for it. The ice is home to the hockey clubs HC Wohlen Freiamt and HC Fischbach-Göslikon, and the EC Wohlen holds its traditional ice show there each March.
In the modern hall winter sports from free skating and hockey to figure skating are practised.
