Baiersbronn's municipal ice hall began as an open-air rink and is home to the Schwarzwälder Holzhacker
Currently out of season The hall is closed until its winter season: its page says "Unsere Eislaufhalle in Baiersbronn öffnet am Samstag, den 14. November 2026, und schließt am Sonntag, den 14. März 2027, mit Saisonende." No skating before 14 November 2026. Official schedule update
The Eislaufhalle Baiersbronn began as an open-air rink that was first roofed and later closed in to become a hall. The changed climate inside strained its wooden-beam structure, so a renovation gave it a new insulated roof, a ventilation system, a climate membrane over the ice, new electrics and lighting, and redesigned façades.
The Schwarzwälder Holzhacker, a hobby ice hockey team of the SV Baiersbronn, were founded in 2019 and describe themselves as no classic league club. The club's skating group teaches figure skating from the very beginning.
Besides public skating the hall runs Eisdisco parties, with a Weihnachtsparty, a Neujahrsparty and a Faschingsparty in 2026/27, and Eisstockschießen for everyone. In November 2025 the season opening was delayed by a technical fault in the cooling plant.
