Opened in 1975, roofed in 1981

The municipal artificial-ice stadium in Bayreuth opened in December 1975 with 3,000 places, 800 of them seats, and was roofed over in 1981. The standing terraces were extended in 1985 and another stand was built in 1991, which raised the capacity to 4,555 visitors, 1,476 of them seated.

In winter the Bayreuth clubs use it mainly for ice hockey, ice-stock shooting, figure skating and speed skating, and the Bayreuth Tigers play their home games here. In summer the arena is used for street hockey and roller figure skating.

The stadium has hosted international ice-hockey matches and Bundesliga games in earlier years, the German street-hockey championships in 2005 and 2006 and the junior street-hockey European championship in 2009. Ice shows and ice discos also draw visitors regularly.
