Charlottenburg's district-built rink, open since 2012

The Eissporthalle Charlottenburg, known as PO9, was built by the Bezirksamt Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf itself between 2010 and 2012 as a replacement for the earlier Eissporthalle on Jafféstraße, which was built in 1973 and demolished in 2001 for the southern extension of the exhibition grounds.

In between, the neighbouring Deutschlandhalle was converted provisionally for ice sport, and its last event was a junior ice-hockey tournament of ECC Preußen on 26 April 2009. The topping-out of the new hall was celebrated in November 2010, and the Eissporthalle opened in March 2012, first used for ice sport on 3 March 2012.

Public skating takes place in winter on the covered, open-sided outdoor surface (Eisfläche II), which in summer is used for roller and inline skating. A shimmering lettering above the entrance, made after a competition by Erika Klagge, glitters like ice depending on the weather, and the district says the PO9 has shone in new splendour since 2025.
