Berlin's 1974 speed-skating stadium in Wilmersdorf

The Horst-Dohm-Eisstadion in Schmargendorf was built as the Eisstadion Wilmersdorf by the architect Werner Deyle and opened on 29 November 1974. It has an ice surface of 6,170 square metres and an Olympic-standard 400-metre speed-skating track.

The opening competitions were won by the Olympic champion Monika Pflug and the sprint world champion Per Bjørang, and in 1985 Germany's first speed-skating World Cup race took place here. Ice speedway has been staged since 1974, with the team world championship in 1983 and the first individual world championship in 1987.

In October 2000 the stadium was named after Horst Dohm, a former district mayor of Wilmersdorf. In winter it is open as an ice-skating stadium, and in summer the ring is used for roller and inline skating, from 30 March to 18 September in 2026.
