A quayside rink in Christianshavn since 2019

Broens Skøjtebane first opened in 2019 on Den Grønlandske Handels Plads in Christianshavn. Each winter the quayside beside Broens Street Food is turned into the rink, and from the end of October to February the square fills with events, street food and winter cheer. When the ice melts, the street food stalls take the square back from March to October.

School classes are a regular part of the rink, which has room for two classes at a time. A local media report from December 2021 counted 3,800 pupils from schools across Zealand who had already used the offer that season. Tårnby Skøjte Klub, which describes itself as one of Denmark's most versatile skating clubs, trains members here on Sunday mornings. The events programme includes Disco on Ice, beer bingo, a Christmas workshop and Lucia processions.
