Østerbro Skøjtehal on Svendborggade opened officially in the summer of 2021, with the doors first opening on Saturday 14 August. It replaced the old Østerbro rink in Copenhagen's sports park on P.H. Lings Allé, which was worn out, could not be renovated and closed in 2008. For 13 years the district made do with a bubble hall on B93's training pitches by the Østre Gasværk site. The new hall was the city's first public-private partnership building project, with about 143.8 million kroner set aside for it.
The rink measures 30 by 60 metres, with room for 500 spectators, in a 5,227 square metre building that also holds service and club facilities. KSF, which describes itself as Denmark's oldest skating association, founded on 4 February 1869, is among the clubs tied to the hall. On opening day guests were served grilled sausages and free soft drinks, and the culture and leisure mayor and the lord mayor gave the opening speeches.
