The Kongens Nytorv rink, run by MD Ice Event
Multi Dome, the company behind MD Ice Event, built the Chanel rink on Kongens Nytorv in 2023. In September 2024 MD Ice Event announced its aim of a 1,200 m² rink on the square in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and the 2024 rink opened on 15 November and ran to 30 December. Visit Copenhagen describes it as the traditional rink around the Krinsen on Kongens Nytorv, put up anew each winter.
MD Ice Event runs the rink, from putting it up and taking it down to ice care and the staff on site. Its programme has included skating with Santa, a skating disco and ice shows, and the rink stands beside the Copenhagen Winter Wonderland market, whose organisers call it Copenhagen's romantic outdoor rink.
