Opened on 23 November 1935; roofed in 1969; home ice of the Düsseldorfer EG for decades.
Currently out of season This is the weekly timetable the rink prints from 2 October 2026; it announces no end date; checked on 3 October 2026. Sessions are listed to 31 October 2026. The rink also posts different hours for the autumn school holidays without printing their dates, so on the holiday weekdays (19 to 23 and 26 to 30 October) only the Tuesday 17:00 session is listed: check the rink's page for those days. The rink says nothing about public holidays, so nothing is listed on them. Official schedule update
The Eisstadion an der Brehmstraße opened on 23 November 1935 as the third ice stadium in Germany, after Berlin and Munich, and is counted as the most traditional of the country's ice halls. Rebuilt from 1946, it held 10,500 spectators and was Germany's largest ice hall for decades; in 1969 it was roofed over with a steel structure by the architect Friedrich Tamms.
It was a host venue of the ice hockey world championships in 1955, 1975 and 1983, and the Düsseldorfer EG celebrated its eight German championships here. Next to the stadium an uncovered training rink stood from 1955 to 1995; a new, covered hall of modern design was built on the same site in 2004, so the Brehmstraße again has two ice surfaces.
Today the stadium has stands for seated and standing spectators, and the professionals of the DEG GmbH, the youth teams of the Düsseldorfer EG, the DEG figure-skating club and the Curling Club Düsseldorf train on its ice.
