Hubertus-Stadion, home of Holzkirchen hockey since 1933

The Hubertus-Stadion in Holzkirchen is operated by the Gemeindewerke Holzkirchen, and its ice of almost 1,800 square metres is used for ice stock sport, ice dance, figure skating and ice hockey. The stadium has stands, floodlights and changing rooms.

Hockey in Holzkirchen began on 26 December 1933 with a first game at the Herdergarten. The ESC Holzkirchen, which speaks of a Holzkirchen hockey tradition of more than 80 years, won the Oberliga cup in 1967 and the German youth championship in 1971. The club plays home games at the Hubertusstadion and is the stadium's main user. It describes itself as a non-profit sports club with a traditionally strong youth programme, and its ESC Racers hobby side plays in the Hobbycup Geretsried, a league of ten teams.

About 12,000 public skaters, hockey clubs, schools and ice stock players use the ice for well over 1,000 hours, and the stadium is a popular meeting place for families and children from early November to early March. At every home game of the first team, the club hands spectators its own stadium newspaper, the ESC-Bladl. In July 2026 the dissolved Förderverein Holzkirchner Halle split its assets equally between the ESC and the EKV, the town's two ice-sport clubs.
