Covered rink at the leisure centre, open since November 1985

The covered rink at the Centre de Loisirs des Franches-Montagnes opened its doors in November 1985. From 1974-75 the local hockey teams had trained on the covered rink in Porrentruy, and the club restructured in view of the imminent opening of a covered rink at the leisure centre.

The club that plays here, now the Hockey-Club Franches-Montagnes, was officially created on 12 February 1958 as Hockey-Club Saignelégier. In those years there was no Rolba to make the ice, and the players cleaned it themselves between periods. The high boards of the old communal rink went up in 1959-60, and the club also staged a figure skating gala there.

After the move the junior section already counted about forty members in 1985-86, and a hockey school followed in 1986-87. In 2017-18 the first team reached the final for the Romandy title and lost to Sierre, and 650 spectators came to the fourth game in Saignelégier.
