The Arago complex's 58 by 28 metre rink
The ice rink of La Roche-sur-Yon sits next to the aquatic complex and offers a 58 by 28 metre sheet with light effects, a sound system and a giant screen. The town says it welcomes about 100,000 visitors on average between September and May, and calls it a recently renovated facility. It closes for the summer.
It is the home arena of the Hockey glace yonnais, known as the Aigles, a club created in 1996 that reached Division 2 in 2001 and Division 1 in 2015. The Complexe Arago is listed with 1,200 seats.
The agglomeration council approved the extension and renovation of the ageing aquatic complex and ice rink on 15 December 2015. The works ran in two phases, from 2018 to 2020 and from 2020 to 2022, with delivery in June 2022.
