Two rinks opened in October 2002

The ice rinks of Glisséo opened to the public on 19 October 2002, five years before the swimming pools of the same Cholet complex. Two rinks are linked by a passage so the resurfacer can cross: a 890 square metre playful rink with slopes, ramps and obstacles, and a 1,624 square metre sports rink with 1,063 seats in the stands, built for competitions and shows.

The sports rink is home to the Hockey Club choletais, whose first team, the Dogs de Cholet, plays in Division 1, and to a para-ice-hockey section that has existed since September 2009. The Association choletaise de patinage sur glace also lives here, teaching figure skating and speed skating and, since 2018, freestyle.

Public sessions come with extra activities. Glisséo says it was the first in France to import Eisstock, an Alpine ice sport it likens to pétanque on ice, and a Jeudi sportif offers ice football, hockey and games on the public session.
