Open air in 1962, covered since January 1993

The Patinoire des Eaux-Minérales was created by a cooperative society and opened in 1962 as an uncovered rink. The commune of Morges took over its running in 1977 and acquired the whole site two years later. The covered rink known today was inaugurated in January 1993, with its capacity cut to 2,400 places.

The building holds an ice surface, changing rooms and curling lanes under one roof. The ice hockey school of Forward HC and the Club des patineurs de Morges, which teaches figure skating to all ages and levels, train here.

Repeated breakdowns caused by age led the municipal council to grant an emergency credit in 2022 for a temporary refrigeration system, which kept the ice sports going. The city plans a rebuild for 2026 to 2028 that keeps the ice surface and the curling hall, and keeps 700 seated places on the side facing the river Morges.
