An ice-sport club with roots in 1885

The ice-sport club of Leiderdorp traces its origin to 12 February 1885, when people from Leiderdorp and Zoeterwoude Rijndijk founded the ice club 'De IJsclub Leiderdorp-Zoeterwoude Rijndijk'; a new association followed on 1 December 1921. The club first had a land rink from 1936 to 1945, and in 1956 the town council decided to lay a new one along the A4 motorway.

From 1958 to 2007 the club, with the largest land rink in South Holland, was based on the Mauritssingel. Its first clubhouse was built in 1959, burned down in 1963 and was rebuilt.

After thirteen years of uncertainty the club moved in 2007 to the Boomgaardlaan in the Weteringpark. The land rink was built in 2007, the skating track in 2008 and the clubhouse in 2009, and the land rink was open five winters in a row after it was completed.
