A club-built rink in Polje, roofed in 2000
Dvorana Zalog is a covered rink in the Polje district of Ljubljana, used by hockey clubs, recreational groups and curlers as well as public skaters. It has stands, changing rooms and a cafe, and holds 200 skaters during public sessions.
The rink began as a club project. HK Slavija, a hockey club from Zalog, started building its own artificial rink there in 1968 but stopped in 1976 before it was finished; it was completed in 1978, and an international match between Yugoslavia and East Germany was played for the opening. The hall was roofed in 2000.
On weekday mornings kindergartens come for skating courses, and a school sports day here lasts about two and a half hours and includes watching a hockey training session. Curling is played here too.
