On the Casinoplatz since 2012/13; the Genossenschaft Kunsteisbahn Meiringen opened it on 19 January 2013.
Public skating at Kunsteisbahn Meiringen (Casinoplatz): the next 7 days
Currently out of season The Genossenschaft's page says the winter season of the Eisbahn Meiringen has ended and that it hopes to welcome skaters again from about mid-November 2026; the hours it still prints are last winter's (mid-November 2025 to about the end of February 2026), so no timetable is listed until the new season is announced. Checked on 4 October 2026. Official schedule update
A village-square rink run by a cooperative since 2012/13
The Kunsteisbahn on Meiringen's Casinoplatz owes its origin to the initiative of the Dorfkommission Meiringen-Schattenhalb. The Genossenschaft Kunsteisbahn Meiringen, registered in the commercial register on 27 January 2014, took over the running of the rink for the winter of 2012/13, bought an aluminium rink system with glycol cooling and boards, and opened it on 19 January 2013. The rink covers 540 square metres in the middle of the village, under open sky.
In 2014/15 the cooperative bought its own ice-cleaning machine, its own chiller and a snow blower. The ice is reserved for local schools in the mornings, children train ice hockey and figure skating there besides public skating, and volunteers give more than 1,000 hours of unpaid work every season.
