An uncovered artificial-ice stadium from 11 February 1950; 14,000 watched its first international match
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Plzeň's ice stadium opened on 11 February 1950 on the former cattle market, with artificial ice and no roof. Its record crowd came at the first international match, when AIK Stockholm visited and 14,000 spectators crowded behind the boards to see Plzeň win 6:2. The home club played its first league match under a roof in 1969.
Work on a second ice surface beside the main one began at the end of 1973. In 1992 celebrations of reaching the final ended in a fire that filled the stadium with smoke; volunteers and local firms repaired it so the final could still be played there. The arena now holds 7,536 spectators, 5,167 of them seated, and is run by Hockey Club Plzeň 1929.
The name has followed its sponsors: the city council approved ČEZ Aréna during a junior world championship, the building later became Home Monitoring Aréna, and since August 2019 it has been the LOGSPEED CZ Aréna.
