A covered 600 m2 rink on the Kurhausplein
Cool Event Scheveningen puts a covered rink of 600 square metres on the Kurhausplein for the winter. On 28 February the rink turns into a dancefloor, with DJ Oliwood playing on the ice.
Groups book the ice in blocks of up to 100 pupils, and the rink invites schools, clubs, day-care centres and after-school care. Students can skate with a student discount on showing their student pass. Sinterklaas visits the rink with his Pieten, and half-hour curling sessions are on offer for children and adults.
The organisers also point to Dining on Ice as a big success of earlier winters. Beginners can borrow support skates and penguin-shaped walkers, and parents may step onto the ice in shoes to help a child.
