Opened in 1993 in front of Higashiyamato-shi station

Higashiyamato Skate Center opened in 1993 in front of Higashiyamato-shi station. It forms part of the BIG BOX Higashiyamato complex, and before its closure it operated as a rink that could be used all year round.

The complex itself is dated 15 July 1998, and its sports facilities include indoor tennis courts. The rink closed in May 2021 because of faults caused by the age of the facility. It reopened after renovation on 22 October 2022, a date announced in the autumn of that year.

Today the rink is the home base of the women's ice hockey team SEIBU Princess Rabbits. It is also used for figure skating practice and lessons, and the Musashino Figure Skating Club is listed as running skating classes there.
