Five ice halls at Gränby sportfält, from the 1974 A-hall to the D-hall that opened in April 2025
Currently out of season Uppsala kommun's page for public skating prints weekly times for two of the Gränby halls and no season dates for them: hall C on Fridays 10.00-14.00 and Saturdays 18.00-20.00 (sticks allowed), hall D at the same times (no sticks). Hall B has no public skating except during school holidays and the page prints no times for it; hall A has none. Serwenthallen's grid on the same page is dated to 15 March 2027, but these two are not, so no sessions are shown. The page was last updated on 21 September 2026. Checked on 4 October 2026. Official schedule update
The Gränby ice halls stand on Gränby sportfält by Råbyleden and are used mainly by ice hockey, bandy and figure skating clubs; lower- and upper-secondary school hockey classes train there too. Hall A, the largest of the five and the home arena of Almtuna IS, has been Uppsala's main arena for hockey and figure skating since it was built in 1974.
The newest hall, D, opened on 7 April 2025 between halls A and C. It is aimed at recreational sport and, to begin with, figure skating, and has no plexiglass around the ice; it takes 300 people standing around the rink.
In September 2026 the municipal executive decided to rebuild and extend hall A. Building is planned to start in 2026 and run in four stages, with the hall expected to be finished in 2029.
