A 1961 rink, roofed in 1984, home of the EHC Uzwil
The Uzehalle in Niederuzwil was built in 1961 and roofed in 1984, and a curling hall belongs to it. It is the home ice of the EHC Uzwil, founded in 1941, which reached the promotion round for the top league in 1971/72, played several years in the Nationalliga B in the 1980s and became Swiss amateur champion around the turn of the millennium.
The club's junior section counts among the best in Switzerland and has repeatedly produced national players, among them Kevin Fiala, and the elite team now plays in the Regio League. Figure skaters train with the EC Uzwil, whose skating group has 24 members and whose courses start with children of kindergarten age, and school classes can book the ice on weekday mornings.
