The ice club's home since 1962
Wil voted in 1961 on building the Sportpark Bergholz, with a home for the ice club planned in it, and the club has played there since 1962. The ice was roofed in 1984 and reopened in 2013 as part of a new building for the whole sports park. The hall today has an ice surface of 1,800 square metres with 1,000 seats and 400 standing places.
The EC Wil, who play in the 1. Liga, call it home; they won the Swiss amateur title as 1. Liga champions at the end of 2022/23 and again in 2025. In summer the inline hockey team IHC Wil Eagles trains and plays in the hall, and the Eisdisco evenings are run together with the Wil youth work.
