The SC Herisau's ice since 1974

The SC Herisau was founded in 1942 and first played on the military ground between the barracks and today's Sportzentrum. Eighteen years later the club moved to the Lerchenfeld in St. Gallen, and only in 1974 could it move into the new Sportzentrum on the Kasernenstrasse. A renovation of the Sportzentrum was completed in December 2006.

The club reached the Nationalliga B in 1981 and won that league in 1996/97, which took it up to the Nationalliga A for one season. For 1998/99 it briefly renamed itself SCH Säntis. Since 2017/18 it has played in the 1. Liga, with home games in a hall that holds 3,152 spectators. Besides public skating, school skating, plausch ice hockey and ice stock shooting are booked online.
