Opened in 1977, named for a former mayor

The Patinoire André Ravix has been the municipal rink of Villard-de-Lans since it opened in 1977. It is named after André Ravix, a former local hockey player who, as mayor, was behind the construction of this covered rink to replace the outdoor one.

Its 60 by 30 metre surface gives 1,800 square metres of ice, with a capacity of 2,000. It is the home of the Ours de Villard-de-Lans, the ice hockey club founded in 1931, and the town's hockey and ice dance clubs train on the ice.

Since 2016 the Masters de patinage artistique, a figure skating event, has been held at the rink every year. The same ice also hosts public sessions for individuals and groups several times a week, alongside the clubs' training.
