A year-round ice stadium whose outdoor rink moved in from Erlenmoos
The FarFar Ice Camp in Wollerau is a year-round ice stadium for hockey and all disciplines of figure skating, with a hall rink of NHL size, 60 by 26 metres. Its builders trace the dream of a rink on Lake Zürich to the winter of 1962/63, when the lake froze over and hockey suddenly became popular, leading to the founding of the EHC Wädenswil. Construction began about two years before the complex went fully into operation and opened to the public.
The outdoor Ausseneisfeld, run by the Verein Eispark Erlenmoos since its founding on 28 October 2014, moved here after ten years from the Erlenmoos site. The Swiss Ice Hockey Day brought about 150 young players to train with stars, and the EC Wollerau offers figure-skating courses for children and adults.
