Bethlehem's two-sheet rink that replaced the Albeth Ice Palace
Steel Ice Center opened in December 2003, built in Bethlehem as a much more modern rink than the Lehigh Valley's Albeth Ice Palace. Its arrival ended the older rink's run: with most events transferred to the Steel Ice Center, the Albeth Ice Palace held one final public skate in April 2004 before closing for good.
The building holds two NHL-size ice surfaces, each 85 by 200 feet, along with eight locker rooms with showers and The Steel Pub, which is connected directly to the rink.
Steel Ice Center is the home rink for many local organizations and programs. Lehigh University's men's ice hockey team plays here, and so does Special Hockey of the Lehigh Valley, the Polar Bears. Public skating sessions are open to everyone, new to the ice or seasoned, with no experience required.

Admission
Public skating is $15.00 for adults 11 and older and $10.00 for children 10 and younger. A Summer Season Public Skate Pass gives unlimited public skating through 30 September 2026 at $200 for ages 11 and up or $150 for ages 10 and under, and covers admission plus skate rental.
Season passes are valid only for the individual named on the pass and only during public skating sessions. The rink runs on the Dash portal, where an account lets you check in faster, track sessions and register for programmes.
