The Moose Sherritt Ice Arena, attached to the middle school in Monticello, was completed in 2005 through the efforts of the Monticello-Annandale-Maple Lake youth hockey organization, and the first game in the new arena was played on December 1, 2005.
It is named for Gordon 'Moose' Sherritt, a 1940s professional who played for the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and the USHL's Minneapolis Millers, among other teams.
The rink is home to about half a dozen hockey programs, including the M-A-ML Stars, and serves as the host facility for the area's high school teams. Its season calendar includes youth tournaments such as the Moose Cup for squirts, the Wild Moose Jamboree for mites and the Iceberg Classic, all running from December 2026 into January 2027.
