St. Thomas's second sheet, opened in 2025

The Tommie Iceplex is the second sheet of ice inside Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, completed in 2025 on the University of St. Thomas South Campus in St. Paul. It is both the practice rink for Tommie Hockey and a community rink, and it is where the arena runs its public open skates and stick and puck sessions.

The arena followed St. Thomas's approval in 2020 to move straight from NCAA Division III to Division I. Since 2003 the Tommies' men's and women's hockey teams had played at St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights. On January 17, 2023, the university announced a $75 million gift from Lee and Penny Anderson for an arena on campus, and the plan cleared three buildings, among them Cretin Hall, a dormitory designed by Cass Gilbert and built in 1894.

The main bowl seats 4,000 for hockey and opened on October 24, 2025, when the Tommies' men's and women's teams hosted Providence. The building is home to Tommie basketball as well as hockey.
