Two NHL rinks and the home of Victory Hockey

Skate Frederick has two NHL-regulation rinks, a full-service pro shop, and figure skating and hockey lessons year-round. Its shop, the Pro Zone, calls itself the heartbeat of the rink and stocks officially licensed Washington Capitals apparel.

All of its hockey runs under the Victory Hockey banner, with year-round training and recreation for players from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, and Varsity and JV teams for Frederick County players in the Maryland Scholastic Hockey League. Hockey director Mike O'Neil has 20 years with the rink's hockey community; he helped develop its USA Hockey 8U ADM program and launched its Stars program, and its Dominoes program earned a national award.

Figure skaters take United States Figure Skating tests and competitions here, training toward sectionals, regionals and national-level events with coaches who are all SafeSport certified. The public calendar adds seasonal nights such as the October Spooky Skate Night.
