Community-association outdoor rink on the grounds of the 1977 Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre
For the latest skating dates, check the rink’s official information.
Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre opened in 1977, and the outdoor rink sits on its grounds beside two lighted softball diamonds and a soccer field complex. The Fitzroy Harbour Community Association manages the facility on behalf of the City of Ottawa. The association is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit Ontario corporation with an elected board of directors.
The rink has permanent boards and permanent lights, and its ice is classed as community-maintained: the association operates the rink each winter, with help from a grant from the City of Ottawa.
Today, hockey on the rink is organized by the association's volunteers, who form age-group teams for boys and girls aged 5 to 15 in a recreational outdoor hockey program. Each team has about one practice and one game a week, with games against teams from other West Carleton communities.
