A permanently boarded rink and puddle surface beside the community building in 1950s Manordale
For the latest skating dates, check the rink’s official information.
Manordale Park's outdoor rink is in Manordale, the first neighbourhood developed in Ottawa's Knoxdale ward. The subdivision was established in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and its park was originally called Orr Unsworth Park before it took the Manordale name. Nepean, the township around it, was incorporated as a city in 1978 and became part of the amalgamated City of Ottawa in 2001, and the rink now appears among the City of Ottawa's listed outdoor rink locations.
The city's parks inventory records the ice as a "rink with puddle": a rink with permanent boards and a puddle surface, both under permanent lights. The rink's facility is a community building. Manordale Park features the Manordale Community Building, and the city's own park-buildings layer records a Margaret Rywack Community Building on Knoxdale Road, so the building beside the ice carries a person's name in the city's records and the park's name in common use.
